Pão de queijo is a traditional brazilian cheese bread made with tapioca flour and cheese. Here's how to make it:
1 cup tapioca
1/2 cup milk
1/4 cup vegetable oil
1 egg
1/2 cup grated Parmmesan cheese
1/2 cup grated mozzarela cheese
Salt to taste
Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
In a medium saucepan, heat the milk and oil over medium heat until it comes to a simmer.
Add the tapioca flour to the pan and stir until a smooth dough forms.
Remove the pan from the heat and let the dough cool for a few minutes.
Add the egg to the dough and stir until well combined.
Stir in the grated Parmesan cheese, grated mozzarela cheese, and salt.
Using a small cookie scoop or spoon, form the dough into small balls and place them on the prepared baking sheet.
Bake the pão de queijo for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown.
Serve warm.
PRO TIP
Try stuffing a smidge of brigadeiro in it, like Nutella.
